# Years in Business: 3 years
Owner/Owners: Angelina Templar (took ownership in March 2021)
Why did you start your business?
I made the decision a couple years ago that I wanted to own my own business and be my own boss. I also wanted to be a part of something that fulfilled my goal of helping people improve their lives and making a real difference in their well-being, over simply trying to collect a profit. I have personally experienced the benefits of cannabis in regards to my anxiety and other minor ailments, and discovered this business was the perfect opportunity to help educate and guide others on their natural alternative journey, as well.
Tell me about your business:
We specialize, specifically, with hemp supplements. Most of our products allow consumers to experience the potential benefits of cannabis without the associated psychological affects that one would expect from marijuana.
The Your CBD Store story starts with Rachael Quinn. Your CBD Store founder Rachael Quinn’s quality of life was affected by Crohn’s disease, and CBD was the only thing that helped gain her quality of life back. Quinn knew she had to share this experience with others, which led her to open the first store in Bradenton, Fla. in 2018. With the store’s success, Rachael and her husband Marcus, the company’s CEO, founded an innovative product line with the highest quality ingredients under the name Sunmed. The company has now grown into a franchise operation with almost 500 stores countrywide. Your CBD Store is the largest CBD brick and mortar retailer in the nation awarded best topical, best tincture, best pet products, AND best beauty products by the USA CBD Expo.
Who are your customers:
Our customers are anyone 18 and older interested in natural cannabis alternatives that promote health and wellness.
What did you do differently during the pandemic that kept your business alive?
I purchased this business from the previous owner in March of 2021, coming off months of being closed due to not being considered an essential business. So, to combat and reduce in-person transactions, we accepted phone orders and provided free no-contact local delivery, curbside pick-up and free shipping, which is a policy we have since permanently adopted.
Our company also started to manufacture hand sanitizers with hemp to assist in the shortage that was occurring, as well. We have always tried to promote a care culture within our stores and among our staff, and it is that attitude that allowed us to maintain customer loyalty throughout the pandemic.
Other important information:
With the legalization of marijuana in New York state, it has become more important than ever to really take great care in vetting the cannabis products now available to us.
